Labs!

It's about freaking time. I am back in labs and needless to say i'm a happy camper, or cooker. My first lab segment is Purchasing and Product ID. The classroom is on the first floor in the storeroom, but it’s not too bad even though it’s at 7am which means I get up at six and it does get kind of cold down there. We learn everything from being able to ID any product that comes through the storeroom to identifying the difference between two different types of canned peaches. I really enjoy my instructor; her voice kind of reminds me of Dory from Finding Nemo. She is a lot of fun and really knowledgeable. My class is a good group; I get along with all of them, even though it is the first day. Today, we had a quiz on herbs we had to name all the herbs in front of the class by appearance and smell. I passed, first time :)

Friday morning at the butt crack of dawn Hank and I left for New York. I started driving first and if you read my face book, I fell asleep at the wheel. Nothing happened I just woke up, and then almost had a heart attack. Hank took over for pretty much the rest of the way after that. We got to Manhattan at around 6:30 that night. NYC traffic is INSANE! We picked up Deidre in front of her apartments so she could show us the tricks and the trades of finding the hidden parking spots. After about 30 minutes we found one. But we had to move our cars by 7 am the next morning. Kristina and Blair arrived shortly after where Kaitlin (Hanks cousin) and Donald (her BF) picked them up from the airport. We said our hellos and Kristina showered everyone with SEE'S CANDY (which they don’t have in NC). Deidre ordered the infamous New York Pizza or "pie". Later we all crawled in bed.

Hank and Blair got up early the next morning to move the car and surprise us with bagels, but when they spent nearly 2 hours trying to find a spot they weren't too happy.

New York was so much fun. I think I did the craziest thing ever though. We went to
Canal Street
and heard the whispering Asians "Gucci, channel, Prada..." and we ended up following on of them into the Chinese mafia quarters I’m pretty sure. They had walkie talkies and signals and passcodees talking us into the back alley of some building to this tiny non air-conditioned room, where I ended up getting a dolce and gabana purse, and Prada bag pretty dang cheap. It was super sketchy though. Afterwards since it was just us girls we decided to have as much chocolate as possible in "little Italy" at a yummy little shop.

Hank had a good time on his birthday. We want to try to go back sometime.

Off to go study and do homework
Love Ya!

Geez ...I really Need to Step Up My Game.

Well I am officially finished with all finals for my academic classes, and 2/3 of the way finished with my freshmen year. Pretty crazy? I can't wait to get my chef coat back on for labs. Academics are horrible.

Unfortunately I did not get the RA position on campus (Residential Assistant), but I am an alternate so hopefully someone will decide they hate the career they chose and decide to change schools, cross your fingers. The position would have really benefited me since I got an email last night saying they raised tuition cost 4 percent, and housing along with it :( because $34,000 a year wasn’t sufficient enough already. Rumor has it I have a pretty good chance of being hired though, last year they supposedly used all of the alternates and had to hire a couple more, so again, cross your fingers.

Haven’t got my final grades yet, but I have a feeling they aren’t as good as last terms. Academics really were not meant for me. I tried pretty hard I feel like I did better in this math class then my classes before but we will see. Thanks to mom Scott Austin and Kylie for the help in my nutrition class, you probably saved my grade.

Well I have a solid group of friends here now and we compliment each other very well. Nothing likes taryn, but I can’t wait to live with them next year. Brittany, Madison and I reserved an apartment next year in the city view towers. I am so excited to have a kitchen I could pee myself. The apartments are actually a lot bigger than one would assume for soft more housing. Madison, Brittany and I are defiantly working on our freshmen fifteen. We have these random cravings at ridiculous times to eat like a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, so no questions asked anytime of day (as long as the Hot Light is on... yeah I have the phone number saved in my contacts ) call each other up, and go stuff our faces with heaven.

Well this weekend it supposed to be super busy at work so I am hoping to make lots of spending money for New York next week. I can not wait. I am really trying to save up for a nice camera. Taylor has inspired me a bit, and I really love the food photography they have posted in the culinary office. I have money saved up and set aside for the off chance I need money, but I think I might use it towards a camera.

Well if two jobs weren’t enough I started looking for a third. Maybe I am looking for a job change not really sure yet, but I have an interview/audition shift/job shadow this Sunday at a pub type of thing as a hostess. I have been looking for a kitchen job, but Taylor needs to send me some of her luck for that.

Now, that I am back in labs I should be able to update this more often.

Love You Lots.

Its Been a While...

Well I have been back in Charlotte for about 2 weeks now. We have had 2 snow days and lots of class cancelations. Hooters has been pretty slow, the girls say this is the worst time of the year, just because everyone has spent all their money during Christmas. This Thursday I am doing a swimsuit photoshoot audition for the 2012 Hooters calendar. If i make it they will fly me all espenses paid to Ecuador to do a bigger photoshoot. My managers say there is cash money involved but i really have noidea how much that is for. I just got my midterm grades back, and my classes are pretty easy. I pulled 2 B's and 2 A's. I think by now one of those B's is already an A. I hope. I Love Lexi, she is the cutest car ever. I would work everyday for the rest of my life for her. I signed up at a local gym, and ... lets just say my thighs hurt.

Love you all,
Jordyn
